Man Bartlett is a social media artist who creates interactive performance pieces that communicate with both the traditional art world, and also the contemporary new media sphere. His piece titled #24hEcho consisted of Bartlett repeating tweets sent to him, into a webcam. Bartlett promised to repeat everything that was sent to him, however explicit or strange, arguably commenting on the uncensored nature of the internet.

As well as the exploration of censorship and online freedom, Bartlett is also keen to explore the notion of interpretation. Individuals who used the hashtag #24hEcho were subject to Man Bartlett’s interpretation of their words. The act of repetition during his performance was an immediate and physical representation of the interpretation that occurs 24 hours a day online.
